Code Of Conduct
“Any action or behavior that causes a disruption or interference with convection operations, excessive discomfort to other attendees or adversely affects Anthro SouthEast’s relationship with its guests, venues or the public may result in permanent termination of membership”
The primary purpose of Anthro SouthEast (ASE) is for our attendees to have fun. To ensure that the greatest number of people do so, we have established certain rules of conduct. These rules are to ensure that the behavior of any one small group does not disturb the membership as a whole, and does not detract from the relaxed and comfortable atmosphere of the convention. ASE welcomes all parties with an interest in anthropomorphic animals; however, the convention's management reserves the right to deny or revoke the membership of any individual at any time for any reason. ASE also reserves the right to amend these rules at any time without prior or posted notice and reserves the sole right of interpretation. In any dispute, the general rule above will apply. Anyone who accepts a membership into ASE agrees to indemnify and hold harmless ASE from any claim for personal injuries or other damages or equity arising out of any individual's activities at ASE, even if such injury or damage is caused by negligence by or on the part of ASE.
All ASE attendees are required to abide by these standards of conduct for the entire duration of their stay, even prior to Opening Ceremonies or after Closing Ceremonies.
Minors and Adult Materials
Any attendee under the age of 18 will be issued a Minor badge, and any attendee who is under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times while at ASE including the Dealers Den and the convention space. Parents/Guardians will be held responsible for issues or damage caused by their children. Any attendee 16 years or old will need to fill out a minor release form if parent/guardian will not be accompanying them throughout their stay on the convention floor.
The general rating of the convention is considered to be “PG-13” at all times in all convention and public hotel space. This also includes any inappropriate Artwork/Behavior that may be considered “Not Safe For Work” is strictly prohibited. In addition, public nudity or wearing and/or displaying any attire that maybe of a “sexual nature” is also forbidden. ASE staff have the final say in what is considered “NSFW” Please use common sense, if you have to ask or think twice about wearing or doing something in public, take it to your room.
Special events that are designated as “After Dark” events are considered inappropriate for minors, and are an exception to these rules. Security or ASE staff will attempt to prevent any unauthorized access by minors. Badges and State Issued IDs must be present at all times during these special events.
Use of Badges
You must wear your badge at all times while in public convention space. You must show the full badge, to any member of con staff, security, hotel staff, or law enforcement agency that requests it. Please report any lost or stolen badges to ASE security immediately. Any person found using a counterfeit badge will be banned from the convention space. Anyone found making copies of their badge for others will have their membership permanently revoked. “Lobby Conning” or “Ghosting” the convention is not permitted. Anyone found attempting to “Ghost” the convention will be offered the opportunity to purchase a membership. Failure to purchase a membership will result in removal from convention space.
Weapons or items that can be easily mistaken for a weapon are not allowed at the convention. Pocket knives, cleared by security, and multi tools, such as swiss army knives, are permitted. Local laws and regulations and hotel rules take precedence.
Non-Realistic, prop weapons will be allowed as part of a costume. These prop weapons must be inspected, approved, and bonded by a member of ASE Security prior to display.
Smoking, Alcohol and Illegal Drugs
Smoking is not permitted in any area within the Convention space unless designated by hotel policy, or the Convention Center. THIS INCLUDES ELECTRONIC CIGARETTES,. Smokers are asked to use designated smoking areas, and to comply with any other smoking rules of the facility.
ASE asks that any bottled alcoholic beverages be brought promptly to hotel rooms for storage or responsible consumption. No alcoholic beverages may be brought into nor consumed in convention or hotel space, except during designated programming events.
Anyone knowingly or unknowingly providing alcohol to anyone under the age of 21 may be removed from the convention, be turned over to the authorities, and can be charged with a felony. It is the sole responsibility of persons serving alcohol in room parties to ensure that every person in attendance is over the age of 21, even if that person is not drinking alcohol.
The sale, distribution, or use of any illegal or controlled substances is not allowed at ASE. Any individual found to be distributing such substances will be removed and reported directly to the authorities. For safety, any obviously intoxicated or impaired attendees will be asked to return to their room or seek medical attention until the effects have passed.
Pet and Service Animal Policy
The use of service animals is permitted while at ASE in accordance with The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Please do not interfere with service animals, nor pet the service animal without permission from the handler. The handler/owner will be responsible for any “accidents” that may occur while at the convention. You will be required to clean up after your animal.
As this is a pet friendly hotel, the use of emotional support animals will fall under current hotel policy. ASE staff reserve the right to ask any attendee to kindly remove their animal from the convention space for any reason in accordance to ADA.
Activities taking place in a private hotel room are the responsibility of the person(s) renting the room. We do recommend that parties be kept to a moderate size, and that the noise be kept to moderate volume. Hotel security will break up parties that receive complaints. We do ask for the sack of other hotel guests to wind down these parties after 2am.
Photo Video and Audio Recordings
Attendees should be aware that they may be photographed or recorded at any time while in public areas. ASE reserves the right to authorize individuals to create and edit photographic, audio or video recording of convention space and events (many of which involve audience participation), and to distribute these productions, in whole or part, free of charge, for historical or promotional purposes. Attendees agree that they are not entitled to any notice or compensation for the appearance of their names, aliases or likenesses in such productions
We ask that photographers and videographers act with common sense and courtesy, and refrain from recording any non-consenting individual.
Harassment of any convention attendee, staff or of the hotel employees, of any type or in any way, will not be tolerated. Harassment is a major violation of the general rule and will result in removal of your badge and expulsion from the convention. If you found yourself a victim of harassment please notify an ASE staff immediately so the situation can be handled and will not escalate.
